This Privacy Policy explains what information jystiyan.com (the “Site”) collects, how it’s used, and your choices. jystiyan.com is operated by D. K. Ashvale.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, username and password (stored in encrypted, hashed form) when you sign up.
- Login and activity data: when you log in, your membership level, and basic account activity such as forum posts.
- Cookies: cookies that keep you logged in, and a cookie that remembers you confirmed you are 18 or older so the age screen doesn’t appear on every visit. We don’t use advertising cookies.
- Server logs: like most websites, our host records technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time of visit.
Why we use it
We use this information to run your account and membership, show you members-only content, operate the forum, keep the Site secure and prevent abuse, respond to messages, and, if you’re a member, send occasional Site updates (such as new chapters). You can opt out of update emails at any time.
We don’t sell your data
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising. We share it only with service providers that help run the Site, when required by law, or to protect the Site and its users.
Hosting
The Site is hosted by DreamHost in the United States, which stores Site data and server logs on our behalf.
Payments (if added in the future)
The Site does not currently take payments. If paid memberships are added, payments will be handled by a third-party payment processor. Your card details would be entered with and held by that processor, not stored on our Site. We would receive only limited information such as your name, email, membership status and transaction records.
How long we keep it
We keep account information while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we need to keep some records for legal, security or (if payments are added) accounting reasons. Server logs are kept for a limited period by our host.
Deleting your data
You can ask us to delete your account and personal information by emailing dkashvale@gmail.com from the address on your account. Forum posts may be removed or anonymized.
Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing (we don’t sell or share it for advertising). We won’t treat you differently for using these rights. To make a request, email dkashvale@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity first.
No one under 18
The Site is for adults only. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete the account and its information.
Changes
We may update this policy and will change the “Last updated” date above when we do.
